Suitable for aspiring, new, or established managers, our Leadership Development Courses provide targeted support to strengthen understanding of leadership fundamentals and build confidence in challenging situations. 

Delegates can gain a Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Management and Leadership qualification and 'Foundation Chartered Management' status by taking an assessment at the end of the programme. They will benefit from highly experienced trainers, a learning support coordinator and comprehensive resources from the Management Direct Learning Hub.

Course Overview

The programme consists of four modules that will take place virtually. A launch meeting is scheduled to provide optimum preparation for the 27th January 2022 - 10.00am - 11.00am, but it is still possible to join up to 48 hours prior to the training. See detailed schedule below.

 

  • Module 1: Stepping into First Line Management - Learn how to balance priorities and build a winning team mentality by engaging your team and communicating effectively – a must for all new and existing managers. 3rd & 4th February 2026 - 08.30am - 12.30pm

  • Module 2: Focus on Performance - Gain the tools and confidence to set performance standards and effectively recognise and positively manage underperformance. New and established managers will equally benefit from this course focusing on driving consistent business performance. 3rd & 4th March 2026 - 08.30am - 12.30pm
    - Focus on Performance Workshop 1: 18th March 2026 - 10.00pm - 12.00pm - This is practical workshop gives delegates the opportunity to embed the learning with post course coaching and assignment support

 

  • Module 3: Nurturing Talent - Focuses on best practice methods in relation to training, coaching, delegating and providing effective feedback. This course will equip delegates with the tools needed to grow and develop their people, allowing individuals and teams to achieve their full potential. 31st March & 1st April 2026 - 08.30am - 12.30pm
    - Nurturing Talent Workshop 2: 15th April 2026 - 10.00am - 12.00pm- This is practical workshop gives delegates the opportunity to embed the learning with post course coaching and assignment support

 

  • Module 4: Building High Performing Teams - Provides team leaders and managers with the insight and techniques to analyse team performance, enhance the quality of interaction and communication between team members inspiring them to greater success. 28th & 29th April 2026 - 08.30am - 12.30pm
    - Building High Performing Teams Workshop 3: 13th May 2026 - 10.00am - 12.00pm- This is practical workshop gives delegates the opportunity to embed the learning with post course coaching and assignment support

 

Workshops – Learners will benefit from 3 two-hour workshops to discuss practical application of the learning and real-life team challenges. The sessions will enable learners to gain support and ideas both from trainers and peers. They will also include assignment preparation and writing support.


Assessment – To complete the qualification there will be 3 practical assignments, for which delegates are given trainer support and extensive CMI resources. Find out more about the Foundation Chartered Manager Status here.
