Summer workshop series: From order taker to advisor

In today’s competitive and increasingly commoditised market, success isn’t about doing more recruitment, it’s about doing it differently. This session invites experienced recruiters to explore how they can elevate their impact, moving from reactive delivery to a more proactive, insight-led approach.

Delegates will explore the shift from being seen as a supplier to becoming a valued part of a client’s hiring strategy. The workshop focuses on strengthening market intelligence, building commercial awareness, and using this to influence with greater confidence and credibility.

Together, we’ll explore what it really means to operate as a trusted advisor, bringing perspective, offering challenge, and adding value beyond the brief, so that delegates can build stronger client relationships and increase their influence.

By the end of the workshop, learners will have:

    • Identified the commercial drivers behind why clients default to transactional, supplier-led relationships, and how to shift them
    • Strengthened the commercial and market insight needed to influence hiring decisions and add strategic value
    • Developed practical ways to position themselves with credibility, authority, and confidence in client conversations
    • Defined what high-value partnership looks like for their clients, and how to consistently deliver it
