Meeting Agenda
The Government’s Director of Labour Market Enforcement, Margaret Beels has launched her annual, statutory call for evidence on Labour Market Enforcement Strategy. She and her team will be critical in scoping out the new Fair Work Agency, a Government priority in its labour market reforms. The strategy focuses on:
- Employment Rights Enforcement Priorities and Governance –priorities for employment rights enforcement, best practice in sharing data and providing transparency.
- Communication and Engagement - What channels might increase awareness and where workers are aware of their rights and business their obligations.
- Resourcing and prioritisation – What is the focus for the three enforcement bodies now to ensure the FWA achieves sustained and lasting improvements in employer compliance and the balance of prioritisation between compliance measures in helping employers do the right thing and punishing deliberate non-compliance. The FWA will cover some new areas for example holiday pay – wanting views and evidence.
- Moving towards an FWA - What do you value about the present practices for the three enforcement bodies, what would you want to be stopped, started or continued.
The deadline for submission is 14th December 2024. The event is your opportunity to hear from the DLME, followed by a Q&A Session.
