Webinar

Key Takeaways

  • An understanding of the latest advances in talent tech and AI with regards candidate screening
  • Examples of the ways in which AI can add or reduce bias
  • Opportunities for making AI and DEI part of your competitive advantage as a recruiter

Meeting Agenda

AI is increasingly being used as a way of screening candidates, but within the criteria being used there will inherently be some degree of bias. This has a risk of excluding candidates for the wrong reasons which will ultimately affect hiring decisions and overall DEI. At the same time, AI has the capability to seek out suitable candidates who may otherwise have slipped through the net.

In this webinar our panellists will explore how AI can both help and hinder inclusion during the recruitment process, from proactively finding untapped talent to reformatting CVs and  removing demographic indicators. We will show the how candidates can be sourced based on skills and values rather than just work history. Likewise, our panellists will discuss how candidates with great CVs may not always be a good cultural fit and how talent tech can help inform recruiters. By sharing lived experience in some of the most challenging recruitment sectors for DEI, they will review where their tech has helped remove bias and actually show how recruiters can use this as a competitive advantage.

With their own unique perspective our panellists will give insight into the latest advances in gamification and AI in candidate screening, what data is available for measuring success in DEI and what steps recruiters can take to ensure they attract and submit the best possible candidates without leaving anyone behind.

Panel chaired by Paul Modley, MD at AMS:

STEM Returners, Founder & CEO

I’m the Founder and Director of STEM Returners, an award-winning programme that helps professionals re-enter STEM careers after a break. After over a decade in technical recruitment, I saw firsthand how standard hiring practices routinely excluded talented individuals simply because of a gap on their CV. In 2017, I launched STEM Returners to change that.

I’m passionate about breaking down barriers, challenging bias, and ensuring that career breaks don’t mean career ends. Honoured to have received an Honorary Doctor of Engineering and several national awards for this work, including the 2024 Women in Defence UK Equity of Opportunity Award.
