Samantha Hurley

APSCo, Managing Director

Sam has 25+ years’ experience in the UK professional recruitment sector, in legal, operations and senior management roles.

She started working with APSCo UK in 2010, setting up their member legal helpdesk, and then their public affairs offering. Sam lobbied Government on behalf of APSCo members on the Agency Workers Regulations, IR35, Off-Payroll Rules, and all the other spin-offs that HMRC came up with between 2010 and 2020. Sam sat on HMRC’s IR35 Forum from its inception, and co-chaired the Forum with HMRC from 2018 to 2020. Sam is now the operations director of APSCo UK, and she sits on the APSCo Global Representative Committee. Her remit is the development of APSCo’s presence and reputation within the UK. She ensures innovation, development and improved delivery of existing and new members services, including legal and compliance resources and guidance, market research, world class recruitment training, and events. She is also responsible for the continuing improvement and development of the operational running of the UK business.

Prior to joining APSCo permanently in 2013 Sam owned and ran a legal services company providing compliance and legal services to mainly SMEs in the UK recruitment sector. She started her career as a consultant in an IT recruitment business, progressing through to management roles.

With 11 years of experience in customer success, Leah has spent the past seven years at LinkedIn, where she leads a team of customer success managers. This team is responsible for supporting customers across LinkedIn's UK Enterprise and Large Enterprise Search & Staffing segment, ensuring they achieve their goals through LinkedIn’s solutions. 

 

Leah has always had a passion for the staffing industry which is where she began her career, and it is a segment she has remained focused in throughout her time at LinkedIn. Leah often takes part in industry events, spends time with customers, and supports her team to ensure customers are seeing maximum value from their solutions. 

Leslie Owusu
Leslie Owusu

Gazelle, Founder

Leslie Owusu is a multi-talented professional whose career spans IT consultancy, entrepreneurship and martial arts excellence. Following double knee surgery, Leslie began training in Jiujitsu while working across Europe as a Siebel Consultant, eventually becoming a World and 2x European Champion.

In 2011, he co-founded Gazelle Global, a successful recruitment agency that has placed over 7,000 candidates worldwide, distinguished by its personalised approach. His passion for community development led to establishing several sustainable projects in Ghana, including a building materials factory that created employment for over 100 locals and agricultural initiatives to help farmers during droughts.

In 2019, Leslie founded Pure Jiujitsu, creating a supportive community hub with specialised programmes for children, including neurodivergent youth. His unique blend of business acumen, martial arts expertise and commitment to social responsibility makes him an inspiring leader and community builder.
