Susan Robson, MBE, brings over 20 years of experience in engineering and consultancy, including 16 years as a Principal Consultant at National Grid (and as a panellist on the BBC’s “The Apprentice”). Drawing on her expertise, Susan will share strategies for unlocking hard-to-reach talent pools—an increasingly critical challenge for engineering recruitment businesses.

She will offer valuable insights on fostering stronger collaboration between industry and education, a key to bridging skills gaps and ensuring access to emerging talent. Mike joined CV-Library in 2006 as one of its first ever sales employees. He had seen a creative advert for the job in a local newspaper and was keen to start an exciting new career. Fast forward to today and he now oversees the sales teams and strategy across a number of different teams including the US. 

He is a regular speaker at key industry events, where he covers some of the latest trends in the market and what these mean for recruiters.

Throughout her career, Susan has focused on addressing critical skill shortages in engineering by fostering collaboration between industry and education. She has a proven track record of developing strategic solutions to workforce challenges, ensuring that businesses can access the talent they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving market.

With her deep industry knowledge and hands-on leadership experience, Susan continues to advocate for innovative approaches to talent development and attraction, ensuring the future sustainability of the engineering workforce. Her achievements and insights have also led her to serve as an expert panellist on high-profile platforms, including the BBC’s The Apprentice.
