Join us for an interactive member session examining the impact of the Social Work Agency Rules and providing an opportunity to engage directly with the Department for Education (DfE) on the current position and the practical experience of the sector.
Member Roundtable - What is Happening in Practice?
The Chairs, Jamie Trick and Chris Griffin will lead an in interactive discussion with members on how the Agency Rules are operating in practice and the impact they are having across the social work sector.
We will explore:
- The practical impact of the Agency Rules on recruitment businesses and the supply of social workers.
- What members are seeing across Local Authorities and Councils, including challenges in accessing and retaining social workers.
- The impact on social workers themselves, including whether the Rules are influencing decisions to remain in, move within or leave the sector.
- Key operational challenges, unintended consequences and emerging trends that members believe need to be addressed.
DfE update on Agency Rules
The DfE will join the session to provide an update on the current status of the statutory guidance and the Agency Rules.
This will also provide an important opportunity for members to share their experiences and feedback directly with the DfE, highlighting how the Rules are working in practice and the issues being experienced across the sector.
