Trowers Tuesday: Zero hours workers – what’s proposed under the consultation

On Tuesday 16 June, we explored the consultation which was recently released on the zero hours workers provisions under the Employment Rights Act 2025 and what it means for employers.

We looked at the proposals under the consultation, the government’s direction of travel, and how this may impact on the use of zero hours and low hours arrangements in practice. The session also considered the potential risks for employers and the practical steps organisations can take now to prepare for changes.

Rebecca McGuirk was joined by Nicola Ihnatowicz and Anna Scott where they shared insights and practical guidance to help HR teams and business leaders respond confidently to this evolving area.
