The UK’s life sciences sector is showing signs of fatigue in 2025, with scientific vacancies falling amid pressure on margins, policy uncertainty, and investor caution. Across the country, scientific hiring is expected to decline by 5.2% this year, a noticeable reversal from previous years of expansion. London, while not immune, appears more resilient, recording a modest 3.4% fall. The rest of the UK is expected to fare worse, with a projected 5.9% drop in scientific roles
