3:10pm Labour’s employment rights bill: Impact on the clinical and healthcare recruitment sector

John Hayes, Managing Partner, Constantine Law

John will focus on the following 3-4 areas in the employment rights bill, which are of particular interest to this sector including:

  • The reduced unfair dismissal qualifying period and the concept of a statutory probationary period
  • The zero hours contracts reforms (and the associated consultation re: application to agency workers)
  • Collective redundancy and the fire and re-hire reforms
  • Employment status reforms later in this Parliament.

You will also have the opportunity to put your questions to John after his presentation.

4:00pm Change NHS

Change NHS https://change.nhs.uk/ is the health secretary Wes Streeting’s project to get as much feedback as possible on the NHS to shape a new 10 Year Health Plan for England. Work is continuing apace within NHS England and the Trusts to review the workforce plan. We are submitting APSCo members views in writing, and this is the opportunity for members to articulate their view on why contingent workers will always play a part in the health sector and what needs to change to ease current burdens on the supply chain.

This session offers an opportunity to discuss how recent legal changes and NHS reforms may impact recruitment needs in the clinical and healthcare sector, as well as the implications for suppliers. Gain a clearer understanding of these developments and their potential effects on your role and responsibilities.
