ACAS consultation on its trade union time off code

ACAS has launched a public consultation on its updated draft Code of Practice on time off for trade union duties and activities and is seeking views from employers, workers, and trade unions. The consultation explains proposed changes to reflect the Employment Rights Act reforms and aims to clarify employers’ and representatives’ responsibilities around time off for trade union duties, training and the provision of reasonable facilities.

The consultation is open until 5pm on Tuesday 17 March 2026.
