TRIA is a Bristol-based technology recruitment business specialising in IT, Digital and Business Transformation recruitment across the UK. As part of its commitment to investing in its people and building future leaders, the business enrolled a group of current and aspiring managers onto APSCo’s CMI Level 3 FastTrack Leadership Programme.

We spoke to Tim Donaghy, Managing Director at TRIA, about why the business invested in management training, what they were looking to achieve, and the impact the programme has had on individuals and the wider organisation.

TRIA wanted to create a more structured approach to management development, helping managers build practical skills they could use in their day-to-day roles while developing a stronger leadership team across the business. The programme focused on areas including coaching, performance management and understanding different people and how they work best, with sessions tailored around the challenges TRIA was facing.

One of the biggest outcomes was the development of a genuine management team. Managers became more confident in handling people-related challenges and responsibilities, with Tim reporting improved consistency in communication, coaching and performance management across the business.

The programme has also given Tim more confidence to delegate responsibility and created a clearer leadership structure as TRIA continues to grow.
